Oct 8, 1997: TMP Worldwide, Yahoo! Sign Internet Deal
New York, N.Y., October 8, 1997 -- TMP Worldwide, (NASDAQ: TMPW) said Wednesday said it has signed an agreement in which its Monster Board and OCC products would be featured in the employment section of Yahoo! Classifieds on the InterNet.
The team-up will provide Internet users access to more than 100,000 job listings, TMP said. The service feature will be available at the address http://classifieds.yahoo.com.
Once users gain access to The Monster Board or OCC through Yahoo! Classifieds, they will have the ability to research prospective employers, apply for jobs online, and store their resumes for potential employers to review, TMP said.
Jeff Taylor, executive vice president of TMP's Interactive Division, said the job search firm's goal is to place its clients' job postings and company information in front of as many job seekers as possible.
Yahoo!, the popular Internet search engine, ``is a key partner in our distribution strategy,'' Taylor said of TMP's plans for utilizing the Internet's World Wide Web of computer netowrks.
