TMP Worldwide HR-Roundtable-Discussion Series Identifies Ways for HR Executives to Become a More Strategic Corporate Resource
Company Also Announces Schedule For 2003 HR Roundtable Discussions
NEW YORK, Mar 25, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ:TMPW), the world's leading supplier of human capital solutions, including the pre-eminent Internet career portal Monster(R), today concluded a series of HR-roundtable-discussions by issuing the first report of an ongoing series of HR roundtables.Entitled "HR Expands Its Voice: A Summary of the Roundtable Discussions on the Untapped Resourcefulness of the HR Community," the report details how human resources executives can become more strategic participants on behalf of their companies.
According to the report, the primary qualification for stronger participation is cultivating a more in-depth understanding of the dynamics of their organization. Participants felt that many HR executives were either too removed from the line, not engaged enough with their business leaders or too focused on the HR function. As a consequence, they typically were not familiar enough with the operations of the company.
"Many of the Senior HR executive presenters indicated that they were able to participate on a strategic level with senior management after they had familiarized themselves with their company's operations," according to Oren Klaber, TMP Worldwide eResourcing Director of Recruitment Solutions and organizer of the events. "Those HR executives who took the initiative to develop an understanding of their company's inner workings outside of the HR function were able to participate effectively in the strategic growth of that company. By deepening their knowledge of their company, they also learned more about that particular industry."
The discussion included down-to-earth, simple steps that HR executives can incorporate to increase their strategic value for their company. A full copy of the report is available to be downloaded at: http://na.eresourcing.tmp.com/hr_forum.asp.
