STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2000--TMP Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: TMPW; ASX: TMP), the leading provider of global recruitment solutions, including the dominant Internet career portal, Monster(R).com, today announced a partnership with the State of Connecticut that will host an Internet-based job fair offering employment opportunities with companies and organizations based in the state. "I-Fair Connecticut" launches today at ifair.ct.monster.com and will run for 60 days as a link from www.monster.com, the leading global careers web site with more than 15.3 million unique visitors per month, according to I/PRO. To date this year, Monster.com has posted over 38,000 jobs in Connecticut.

"Attracting and retaining skilled workers in Connecticut is our number one priority," said Connecticut General Assembly Senate Majority Leader George Gepsen. "Our partnership with Monster.com for I-Fair Connecticut allows tens of thousands of workers across the nation to instantaneously reach out to Connecticut businesses so they can fill job vacancies. The job fair helps to highlight the variety of opportunity available in our state."

"With the end of summer here, the back-to-school, back-to-work spirit is in the air, and on the Web," said Michael Castine, managing director of the Stamford, Connecticut office of TMP Worldwide. "I-Fair Connecticut is a great opportunity to highlight employment opportunities in the state, and demonstrate that Connecticut is a great place for living and working. The site offers Connecticut employers a cost-effective means of identifying qualified employees, and enables active job seekers from inside and outside of the state to learn about the opportunities that Connecticut has to offer."

In addition to the direct link from ifair.ct.monster.com, visitors to Monster.com who wish to explore career opportunities in Connecticut will be prompted to go to the I-Fair Connecticut site if they use the key word "Connecticut," or conduct job searches in targeted categories including accounting/auditing, advertising/marketing/PR, banking, biotech/pharmaceutical, consulting services, financial services, healthcare, insurance and retail sales. Visitors to Monster.com will also be guided to I-Fair Connecticut via several initiatives, including banner advertisements on its home page, I-Fair hyperlinks throughout the site, banner ads that appear when job searches are made in neighboring states, and e-mail and links from partner sites such as Southwestern Area Commerce and Industry Association (SACIA), The Connecticut Technology Council and the Fairfield County Information Exchange and Sacred Heart University among others.

The site will offer state-specific job opportunities, content and hotlinks to I-Fair Connecticut sponsors, including Aetna US Healthcare, CK Associates LLC, The Gartner Group, Pitney Bowes Inc., Oxford Health Plans and zUniversity.com. These companies will use the site for the duration of the I-Fair for targeted recruiting. Use of the I-Fair link and site is free of charge for job seekers. Although the site launches on September 11th, I-Fair Connecticut will continue to add company sponsors and new job listings for the duration of the site.

"We're excited about this opportunity to provide a comprehensive range of online recruitment services to Connecticut's companies," said Jim Treacy, COO and executive vice president of TMP Worldwide. "TMP and Monster.com are the future of recruiting. This initiative with Connecticut-based companies is an opportunity to apply our intern-to-CEO philosophy and address the full range of their human capital needs."
