TMP Worldwide Dominates Ema's Creative Excellence Awards
NEW YORK, NY, January 21, 1997 TMP Worldwide, (NASDAQ: TMPW), the world's largest yellow page and recruitment advertising agency, has once again been recognized for its creative excellence in the area of recruitment advertising. At the annual Employment Management Association's (EMA) Creative Excellence Awards held yesterday, TMP collected 23 of a possible 62 agency awards, including eight "Best Of Category" distinctions, for its work this past year in recruitment advertising. The EMA received nearly 600 entries this year.
Ronni Rogers, TMP's national creative director, noted the significance of her company's achievement in receiving such an impressive number of awards for the second year in a row last year, TMP garnered 15 EMA awards. "TMP only entered the field of recruitment advertising a little over three years ago, so we are especially pleased to be recognized once again by the EMA with multiple honors," said Rogers. "We strive for creativity and excellence in servicing our clients, and these awards are a nice confirmation that we are doing our job well."
TMP entered the recruitment advertising industry in 1993 with the acquisition of the business of Bentley, Barnes & Lynn, Inc., and the company has grown to become an industry leader, offering its clients comprehensive recruitment advertising services.
President of TMP's Online Career Center Also Honored
In addition, Bill Warren, president of TMP's Online Career Center (OCC) (http://www.occ.com), one of the first career sites on the Internet, received the prestigious 1997 EMA Pericles Pro Meritus Award. The award is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of human resources by an individual outside of the field. Warren, in accepting the 1997 Pericles Award, remarked on the distinction.
"I happily accept this prestigious honor on behalf of everyone at OCC, all of whom work extremely hard to provide Human Resource professionals and employees with the highest quality recruitment information through our Web site," said Warren. "I'm particularly pleased to be receiving this award on a night when TMP's commitment to the recruitment industry has also been recognized."
TMP's "Best Of Category" awards included campaigns for Sun Microsystems, Gateway 2000 and IBM, among others. A complete list of TMP's awards is attached.
In particular, TMP's work for IBM was quite extensive and garnered several honors, including "Best Of" awards in the College Newspaper, College Magazine and College Recruitment Materials categories. Dave Ferrell, manager of college recruiting for IBM, was quick to praise TMP's work on behalf of his company's recruitment efforts. "For IBM, working with TMP was an excellent example of a creative, high-energy partnership," said Ferrell.
The Employment Management Association (EMA), an organization of Human Resource professionals and providers of employment support services, provides a global forum to exchange ideas and become better informed about staffing and related human resource issues. In 1996, EMA joined the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Professional Emphasis Group (PEG) for staffing and employment. As a business leader of employment and staffing professionals, EMA provides its members, SHRM, and the industry with strategic information and guidance on workplace issues related to recruitment, staffing, selection, retention, termination and outplacement of employees.
