TMP Worldwide Announces Two Strategic New Appointments
to Head TMP's Corporate Information Services Organization
Brian Farrey Hired as Chief Technology Officer
for TMP's Interactive Division, Led by Monster.com
NEW YORK, August 25, 1999 -- TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW; ASX: TMP), the leading provider of global recruitment solutions including the dominant Internet career portal, Monster.com; and the world's largest Yellow Pages advertising agency, today announced the appointment of Jane L. Aboyoun as Chief Information Officer of the company, a new position. The company's Interactive Division, led by Monster.com, also hired Brian Farrey as its Chief Technology Officer through his response to an ad placed on Monster.com itself. This new position was created to help solidify Monster.com's presence as the Web-based recruitment solution worldwide. These strategic new appointments will help TMP and Monster.com maintain their industry leadership and rapid global expansion.
With a 15 year background of implementing solutions using information technology, Ms. Aboyoun brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to her new role at TMP. Her background, which integrates strong general management and planning skills with applications development for solving business problems and improving competitive position, will serve TMP well as the company continues to expand both domestically and internationally.
Most recently, Ms. Aboyoun was Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of ABC Radio, a unit of the Walt Disney Company, based in New York. In this position, she was responsible for the development and implementation of information technology for over 2,000 users, including technical infrastructure and all business applications. Ms. Aboyoun oversaw the development of and spending against all IT budgets and training programs, including strategies for Year 2000 readiness. Ms Aboyoun was responsible for designing enterprise-wide infrastructure and standards and implementing systems to improve business processes and productivity, particularly in the sales and marketing area. Previously, Ms. Aboyoun was with Viacom International as Vice President of Information Systems. She has also served in various systems management capacities at a number of organizations including KPMG Peat Marwick and Nestle Foods Corporation.
Ms. Aboyoun, who will report to Bart W. Catalane, CFO of TMP Worldwide, will be responsible and assume the global responsibility for directing the company's corporate information systems strategy, architecture and operations. She will oversee the company's information services organization, which supports TMP's 5,700 professionals throughout North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Brian Farrey joined Monster.com after 16 years of experience in providing technical solutions to a broad range of companies in multiple industries. He brings an intimate knowledge of e-commerce systems, operations management, and applications development. Most recently, Mr. Farrey was Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer at OrderTrust LLC, an
e-commerce network service company based in Lowell MA. Mr. Farrey oversaw all technology-related operations of the company, from its inception to its current state. Previously, Mr. Farrey was with several companies in the healthcare and manufacturing sector. He managed all aspects of IT, from network services and application development to operations for these companies.
Mr. Farrey will report to Jeff Taylor, CEO of TMP Interactive and will be responsible for the management of all technical aspects related to TMP Interactive, including development, sales technology, architecture and technical operations.
