TMP Worldwide Announces Strategic Appointment Within Its Global Search Operations
NEW YORK--Jan. 4, 2000 -- TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW; ASX: TMP), the leading provider of global recruitment solutions including the dominant Internet career portal, Monster.com; and the world's largest Yellow Pages advertising agency, today announced the appointment of Derek Irwin as Chief Financial Officer of the company's Executive Search division. This new position was created to further TMP's global search operations, and rapid global expansion.
With 12 years of work experience in various finance and accounting functions with top-tier companies, Mr. Irwin brings a wealth of knowledge and judgment to his new role at TMP's Executive Search division. His background integrates solid management skills with a strong foundation of internal audit, SEC reporting requirements and budgeting experience.
Most recently, Mr. Irwin served as Vice President, Finance for the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs, a position he has held since May, 1992. In this position, he was responsible for developing budgets and financial reports, implemented cost reduction programs, negotiated contracts, increased licensing revenue and assisted ownership in the development and implementation of numerous revenue enhancing programs.
Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig commented, ``Derek has made major, lasting contributions to Major League Baseball during his tenure and he will be sorely missed.''
Previously, Mr. Irwin served in various financial management capacities at a number of organizations including international professional services firm Ernst & Whinney and the American League. He has been a Certified Public Accountant in New York since 1991.

Mr. Irwin is a graduate of Lehigh University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He currently resides with his wife, Jodi, in New York City. They are expecting their first child in January.
