Stephen J. Pemberton named Chief Diversity Officer for Monster; Accomplished Leader Adds Internal Workforce Diversity Initiatives to Existing Business Role

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2006--Monster(R), the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), today announced the appointment of Stephen J. Pemberton as Chief Diversity Officer. The announcement was made today by Bill Pastore, President and Chief Operating Officer of Monster Worldwide.

Mr. Pemberton brings 15 years experience of diversity knowledge and strategic operations to his expanded role. As Chief Diversity Officer, Mr. Pemberton will be tasked with expanding and implementing Monster's diversity workforce initiatives. He will continue to be responsible for driving Monster's Diversity recruiting business, as well as helping companies in their recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce.

Mr. Pemberton returned to Monster in July 2005 after previously serving in the role of vice president, strategy and development for Monster Campus, where he successfully advanced Monster's student recruitment solutions. Prior to his return, Steve served as co-president and co-founder of Road to College, a national college admission consulting service that provides admission solutions to students and families. During his career, Mr. Pemberton also held the position of vice president, Consumer Products at CollegeLink, a business acquired by Monster Worldwide in 2001. Prior to joining CollegeLink, Mr. Pemberton was employed for ten years at Boston College as the senior assistant director of admissions. During his long tenure with the College, Steve was responsible for the diversification of the student body and served as the chairperson on numerous admission committees responsible for the evaluation of U.S. and international applicants.

Mr. Pemberton has been a frequent presenter at national conferences including the National Association of College Admission Counselors and The College Board. He also served a two-year term as president of the New England Consortium of Black Admission Counselors and was a recipient of the Lifetime Achiever Award by the New England Opportunity Association. Mr. Pemberton received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Boston College.
