Online Relocation Services Division of TMP Worldwide Gains a Broad Range of
Moving-Related Services, Including Electronic Address Change Capability
New York, NY - July 11, 2000 – MonsterMoving.com, the new relocation services division created by TMP Worldwide Inc., (NASDAQ: TMPW; ASX: TMP) and sister site to Monster®.com, today announced the acquisition of MoveCentral, Inc., one of the Internet's leading providers of relocation-related services for consumers and businesses. The acquisition will provide significant benefits for TMP Worldwide and MonsterMoving.com visitors and clients, as they gain access to comprehensive and powerful moving-related tools and services.
“Changing jobs can often mean changing locations, so it's a natural extension for TMP Worldwide to provide quality services for the moving experience through MonsterMoving.com,” said Andy McKelvey, CEO of TMP Worldwide Inc. “With the acquisition of MoveCentral, MonsterMoving.com is well-equipped to provide a broad range of relocation-related services in an online environment for consumers and businesses facing the exciting but at times daunting challenges of relocation. MonsterMoving.com's services are supported across all TMP Worldwide business units and will provide an important new advertising venue for moving-related clients in the Yellow Page Advertising division; where over 30% of the billing is derived from moving and home services.”
The acquisition gives MonsterMoving.com visitors instant access to a greater variety of key moving assistance programs. The new and complementary resources include a free online change-of-address tool, offering consumers the ability to fill out a single online form from which the U.S. Postal Service and up to 47,000 consumer-selected subscriptions, credit cards, alumni associations, and other national organizations are automatically notified of the change of address.
Informational guides and decision support tools including mortgage calculators, neighborhood directories, movers' discussion groups, a personalized moving calendar, and associated articles will also be incorporated in the MonsterMoving.com site, as will a mall of multiple external consumer sites featuring goods and services relevant to the moving experience. MonsterMoving.com plans to integrate all information, services and tools from MoveCentral.com during the third quarter, and intends to retain the MoveCentral executive team.
“Our mission is to offer our clients and consumers access to valuable online moving resources that save money, reduce time and decrease stress,” said Tom Zorn, president of MonsterMoving.com. “The MoveCentral acquisition provides us with immediate and established online relocation services, including the best address change service on the Internet. This feature is a major time saver for people on the move.”
According to Gomez Advisors™, a leading e-commerce authority for both consumers and e-businesses, many consumers plan to shop the Internet during the moving process, and the best online real estate and relocation sites are those that try to provide superior customer service. The acquisition of MoveCentral demonstrates a commitment by MonsterMoving.com and TMP Worldwide to strategically expand into the $100 billion relocation market, comprising 42 million Americans annually. To date, MonsterMoving.com boasts a relocation database containing more than 440,000 links and 87,000 pages of unique moving information and products and services from thousands of companies.
“We're very excited about working with MonsterMoving.com to help them extend the breadth and depth of services they offer,” said Rick Libby, president and CEO of MoveCentral. “This rapid expansion underscores MonsterMoving.com's drive to become the number one Internet destination for relocation services and programs.”
