Mar 9, 2009: Monster.com's National Keep America Working Tour Begins to Move Across the Country

Monster Addresses Economic Crisis with Innovative Career Fair that Will Make More Than 140 Stops to Help Job Seekers Find Available Jobs in a Challenging Environment

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 9, 2009-- The national tour of the Keep America Working career fairs sponsored by Monster.com®, the leading global online career and recruitment resource and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: MWW), officially began as show crates left New York City in a journey that will include more than 140 stops across America throughout 2009. Last Thursday’s job fair, which was held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City, featured 90 employers who collectively had more than 1000 jobs to fill and drew about 3700 job seekers. The next two stops on the tour are in Washington, D.C. today and in Philadelphia on Wednesday, March 11.

At the core of the Keep America Working Tour is Monster’s mission to help rebuild the American workforce. The company presents these fairs free of charge to both job seekers and Monster employers with current job openings to eliminate any cost barrier and encourage the greatest number of employers with available jobs to link face-to-face with people who need those jobs.

Using an innovative model that goes well beyond the traditional career fair, the Keep America Working Tour brings together the tools and expertise job seekers need not only to find a job, but also to help manage their careers. Job seekers who attend the career fairs can learn from Monster’s career experts by attending live theater presentations that provide the advice and techniques they need to truly stand out from the crowd in today’s tough job market. They can see Monster's new career management tools and experience the all-new Monster.com. And finally, they can make the most of the on-site opportunity to meet face-to-face with market-leading employers with job opportunities. Employers who attend get to meet the highly qualified candidates they need to strengthen their recruiting pipelines and fill their open positions in an efficient manner.

“This is a tough economy, and we recognize that, given our knowledge and expertise, Monster has a tremendous opportunity to do its part to keep America working,” said Sal Iannuzzi , chairman, president and CEO of Monster Worldwide. “Our goal with this tour is to create a powerful venue where employers who have jobs and are hiring, are visible and immediately available to the people who need those jobs. We are in the business of helping people. And right now, that’s more important than ever. Our expectation is that as the jobs creation elements in the stimulus package begin to bear fruit we will be able to offer the new jobs both on the tour and on Monster.com.”
