Monster.com Takes to the Streets, New Outdoor Advertising Campaign Rolls Into Major U.S. Cities
Monster Advertising "Station Domination" Kicks off in Boston and Chicago Reminding Millions of Commuters, "Job Good. Life Good."
MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2001--Displaying motivating career messages in all shapes, colors, and sizes, Monster(R).com is inciting job seekers to aim high in their career aspirations. As the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW), Monster.com today unveiled its new multi-phased outdoor advertising campaign designed to inspire job seekers to never settle and to find the jobs that will elicit happiness in their lives. The campaign, developed by Arnold Worldwide, will be rolled out in six key markets and will feature a combination of traditional and non-traditional advertising, sponsorships and promotions.
This week, passengers and commuters traveling through Boston's South Station and Chicago's Riverside Station were introduced to Monster's "Station Domination," a two-month installment of advertising featuring vibrant banners, posters and billboards. As the exclusive advertiser in these venues, Monster.com will dominate the stations and command attention with messages such as "Think Big," "Carpe Better Jobium" and "Ever Heard of Alexander the Pretty Good?"
"Our newest advertising campaign takes a bold, encouraging approach to convincing millions of individuals every day to follow their career dreams and to never settle for the ordinary," said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. "We also wanted to have a bit of fun with this campaign by targeting job seekers where they're most likely to feel the hustle and bustle of their everyday routine - in train and bus stations on their way to and from work."
Monster.com will roll out similar Station Domination efforts in San Francisco in May and New York in September. Advertising in each city will be accompanied by Monster.com posters in transit shelters, on subway platforms and in surrounding urban locations, as well as billboards on heavily-traveled routes and highways.
As part of its outdoor campaign, Monster.com will also introduce dedicated street teams in five key markets including Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The street teams will be driving custom-designed Land Rovers built in the shape of Monster.com's mascot, Trump. The Land Rovers come with a trailer in tow, unfolding to reveal a covered tent area complete with Internet kiosks that connect users to the Monster.com site, TV screens showing the latest Monster commercials, interactive games and giveaways.
The street teams will make regional stops at popular community events, consumer and trade shows, college campus events, job fairs and sporting events. The teams will tour within an 8-hour/400 mile radius of the six major designated cities. At the Boston Marathon, spectators will see the debut of the newly decorated Chrysler PT Cruiser, painted bright orange and emblazoned with images of Trump. At the Marathon, the street team, accompanied by Trump, will entertain spectators with games, career information and giveaways.
