Monster.com Launches Newest Television Ad; 'Ted's Resume' Shows Power of Monster at Work

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2000--Monster(R).com, the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of the Interactive Division of TMP Worldwide (NASDAQ: "TMPW"; ASX: "TMP"), announced today the unveiling of its new television advertising campaign, scheduled to debut Tuesday, September 5th, the day after Labor Day, during "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." The new spot titled "Ted's Resume," focuses on "Ted," a highly sought after job seeker, and the world of opportunities that find him after he posts his resume on Monster.com.

The :30-second spot will also air during the Olympic telecast on NBC and CNBC as well as during the Emmy Awards and the U.S. Open.

"Over the past two and a half years, Monster.com has used television to tell the world what we stand for and what we believe in. Now it's time to tell them exactly what we do and show people that it works," said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. "It's important to us that we continuously reinvent our advertising, and this latest spot is unique in that it is the first time we illustrate the power and functionality of Monster.com, specifically, resume posting."

The new spot, created by Mullen of Wenham, Mass., profiles Ted, who yesterday posted his resume on Monster.com and today, is flooded with job offers and competitive bids. His prospective employers are pulling out all the stops, leaving Ted swimming in a sea of attention. The world eagerly awaits Ted's decision. The network news, the morning papers, even signs on water towers triumph Ted's job search. In offices around town, bosses demand that Ted comes to work for them, and the public is anxious to know what Ted will do. Meanwhile, back at Ted's cubicle, the offers - and gifts -- continue to pour in to a rather unfazed Ted, as it's no surprise to him that posting his resume on Monster would be so effective.

"With Monster's new Ted's Resume spot, we wanted to emphasize that Monster isn't just a place to look for jobs. It's a place where jobs look for you," said Mullen Chief Creative Officer Edward Boches. "The story of Ted represents the possibilities of success that await job seekers when they post their resume on Monster.com."
