Monster.com To Launch Equal Opportunity Community; Online Chats With Diversity and Equality Advocates Mark Site Kickoff
MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2001--Monster(R).com, the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide (NASDAQ: "TMPW"; ASX: "TMP"), today announced the planned launch of its online Equal Opportunity Community (http://equalopportunity.monster.com). To celebrate the launch of the new community, Monster.com will host a series of online chats with some of the country's leading and most respected advocates of diversity and equality. The Equal Opportunity Community will officially launch to the public on February 20th. With the launch, Monster.com will be the first online careers website to have an area specifically focused on promoting equal opportunity and diversity in the workplace.
The first chats of the online series will take place on Monday, February 12th and Tuesday, February 13th. The chats will feature three distinct public figures who, through their own work, have distinguished themselves as ardent voices for equality and diversity in American society. The participants are: Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA), a leading advocate for domestic partner rights and benefits; Ward Connerly, a member of the Board of Regents at the University of California and author of "Creating Equal: My Fight Against Race Preferences"; and Wilma Mankiller, the first female to hold the position as chief of the Cherokee Nation.
