Monster.com Announces Strategic Alliance With AOL Europe -- Extends AOL Relationship
Over 5 Million AOL Members Across Europe to Benefit from Monster's Leading Career Resources
Monster.com to Capitalize on AOL Europe's Strong Subscriber Relationships, Successful Pan-European Platform and Continued Momentum
MAYNARD, Mass. & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2001-- AOL Europe, Europe's leading Internet, online and e-commerce services company, and Monster.com, the leading global careers network and the flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW), today announced a strategic alliance to provide members on AOL Europe's properties in the UK, France and Germany with Monster.com's career management tools and resources.
The announcement builds on a highly successful relationship announced in December 1999 that brought Monster.com's career management resources directly to the largest consumer audience in cyberspace across seven America Online, Inc. brands. This deal replicates the AOL-Monster relationship in the U.S., and tailors it to the specific needs of the European market. Monster will now be prominently featured and promoted across AOL Europe properties in the UK, Germany and France and will provide job seekers instant access to over one million global job opportunities in the Monster Network, along with resume tools, postings and databases; executive search, selection and outplacement; and other information linking prospective employers with applicants.
In addition, AOL members can utilize Monster's industry-leading resume builder and its comprehensive suite of career-related information including interviewing, job search techniques, and advice through the Careers channel of the AOL UK, Germany and France services. AOL Europe properties will be promoted across Monster's websites in the UK, Germany and France.
"We've had a very successful relationship with AOL in the U.S., and we're happy to build on that success with this new alliance. We are confident that the combination of AOL Europe's strong consumer reach and Monster's established leadership position in the global recruiting market will result in a robust European career center for both job seekers and employers," said Jeff Taylor, founder of Monster.com and Global Director Interactive, TMP Worldwide. "With this alliance, Monster strengthens its position as the overall leading European career site and the premier destination for job seekers worldwide."
"This relationship extends to Europe a proven alliance between Monster and AOL, highlighting the power of combining commerce and content. Much more than forging traditional marketing agreements, AOL Europe works with the leaders in the online medium to reach consumers in a unique and effective way," said Jerry Glover, Senior Vice President, Interactive Marketing, AOL Europe. "Monster's leadership in providing valuable online career resources will be a significant benefit to our members across the UK, Germany and France."
Monster.com joins AOL Europe's growing roster of leading content and commerce partners, including Amazon, Proctor & Gamble, Europcar, John Lewis and many more. The AOL services in Europe recently passed the 5 million member mark.
