Monster.com and The Honolulu Star-Bulletin Create Powerful Print and Online Partnership
Job Seekers in Hawaii Can Now Access Honolulu Star-Bulletin Job Classifieds Online Using New Co-Branded Site From Monster.com
MAYNARD, Mass. & HONOLULU, Hawaii--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 2001--Monster.com(R), the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW), today announced the launch of a co-branded job search site on the Honolulu Star-Bulletin's website Starbulletin.com. This strategic alliance marks Monster's first partnership in the newspaper arena in the U.S. and will couple the Star-Bulletin's wealth of local jobs with Monster's innovative technology and online capabilities, creating an enhanced job seeker and employer experience.
The co-branded site marks the beginning of a year-long agreement in which the Honolulu Star-Bulletin will offer its recruitment clients the opportunity to post jobs online, further extending the reach of their open positions in the marketplace. The partnership allows Honolulu Star-Bulletin clients greater exposure for their job openings in an online, easy to access environment. Job seekers will be able to apply online for any position by creating and storing their resume online through a co-branded version of Monster.com's My Monster career operating system.
The alliance represents the first U.S. partnership for Monster with a newspaper to provide an online component to the newspaper's classified service for employers and job seekers. The agreement gives Monster a greater reach into the Hawaiian community and allows the Star-Bulletin to expand the accessibility of its classifieds section by bringing it online for web-savvy employers. The co-branded site, powered by Monster, will positively impact the time, cost, and quality associated with finding qualified candidates, thus improving results for the Star-Bulletin's clients.
"By extending the Monster brand to the print pages of the newspaper, we further solidify our leadership position in the career search category," said Jeff Taylor, founder of Monster.com and global director, Interactive for TMP Worldwide. "The Honolulu Star-Bulletin has shown they are a step ahead of their peers by being one of the first to select Monster as their online partner for their classified section."
"The Honolulu Star Bulletin sees our relationship with Monster.com as a win-win situation for the recruiter and the job seeker," says Star-Bulletin Advertising Director, Donnie Welch. "We believe by combining the strength of print with the power of on-line, we have created the best recruitment package in Hawaii."
