Monster Worldwide to Serve as Primary Recruiter of Volunteers for Upcoming Republican National Convention in New York City

More than 8,000 Volunteers Needed to Help Support and Coordinate Convention Logistics

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 2004-- Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST),the parent company of the leading global online careers property, Monster(R), today announced that the New York City Host Committee has selected Monster as the primary recruiter for the more than 8,000 volunteers needed at the 2004 Republican National Convention. The GOP convention is the first ever to take place in New York City and will occur between August 30 and September 2 at Madison Square Garden.

Monster Worldwide will leverage its resources, technologies and services to help identify and recruit all the volunteers. In particular, the company will utilize the Web-based hiring technology of its QuickHire subsidiary, which currently serves more than 90 federal, state and local governments with its proven applicant driving, matching and tracking technology. Individuals interested in volunteering for the convention can apply by visiting www.nyc2004.org and filling out an application.

In addition, the company will establish a Monster-sponsored Web site to serve as an online community for the volunteers by keeping them informed and connected throughout the sixteen days of their engagement from August 18th to September 3rd. The New York City Host Committee plans to use the site to streamline its communication with its large volunteer staff and more efficiently instruct, inform and mobilize them with schedule updates and other ongoing notifications.

"As a proud member of the New York business community, we would like to thank Mayor Bloomberg, Governor Pataki and the entire New York Host Committee for entrusting Monster Worldwide with helping to facilitate this great volunteer effort," said Jeff Taylor, founder and chief Monster. "The convention promises to be an historic event for New York and is certain to invigorate the city's economy as well as showcase, once again, the exceptional people, places and attractions New York City has to offer as a premier, global destination for work and play. We look forward to helping the Host Committee assemble the most qualified team of dedicated volunteers, and to doing everything in our power to ensure that the convention is a truly rewarding and memorable experience for all the volunteers, the conventioneers and all the people of New York."

The Republican National Convention will host multiple events over multiple days at different locations across all of New York City's boroughs. The volunteers will be responsible for a range of responsibilities, including greeting convention participants, serving as knowledgeable guides about times and locations of events, and providing other logistical support to guarantee an efficient and well run convention, which is expecting upwards of 50,000 delegates, corporate executives, party workers and members of the media.
