MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 2002--During the month of October, Monster(R) attracted job seekers at record levels, who visited the site to look for job opportunities across all industries. Monster received an all-time high 49.1 million unique visits during the month of October, according to I/PRO. In addition, Monster led the career category by a wide margin, according to comScore Media Metrix and Nielsen//NetRatings. 16.4 million unique visitors came to Monster during the month of October, according to comScore Media Metrix, more than triple the closest competitor's total of 4.6 million unique visitors. According to independent research conducted by comScore Media Metrix, Monster is the number one destination for career seekers and the 26th most visited property(2) overall on the Internet. Monster maintained its stronghold this month with an average pages per visitor(3) of 44 and a power ranking(4) of 506, more than all of its ranked competitors combined. Monthly unique visitors to Monster increased from 9.6 million during October 2001 to 16.4 million for October 2002, an increase of 71 percent. Monster further demonstrated its strength in the online careers industry with a 57.8 percent share of online career eyeball minutes(5), while its closest competitor represents only an 11.7 percent share, a difference of over 46 percent.

According to the Nielsen//NetRatings' MarketView report for the month of October, Monster received 13 million unique visitors and a power ranking of 305.8. Monster also received 51.4 percent of career eyeball minutes, with its closest competitor representing a share of only 12.6 percent, less than a fourth of Monster's percentage.
