Monster Obtains 57.8 Percent of Career Eyeball Minutes According to Nielsen//NetRatings

During the month of July, Monster led the career category by a wide margin according to comScore Media Metrix and Nielsen//NetRatings. 14.6 million unique visitors went to Monster during the month of July according to comScore Media Metrix, more than three times its closest competitor's total of 4.1 million unique visitors. According to Nielsen//NetRatings, Monster received 12.2 million unique visitors, more than three times its closest competitor's 3.7 million unique visitors. Monster is the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW).

Proving its nationwide leadership position, Monster is also the number one career site in the Top 30 U.S. DMAs (designated market area), according to comScore Media Metrix Networks(a). The list includes New York City, where Monster recorded over one million unique visitors, Los Angeles (664,766), Chicago (491,716), Dallas-Fort Worth (349,689), Philadelphia (321,929), San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose (310,820), Atlanta (294,280), and Boston (292,721).

Monster maintained its stronghold this month with an average of 29.8 pages viewed per user and a power ranking(c) of 355.9, more than its next 30 competitors combined. Monthly unique visitors to Monster increased from 7.2 million during July 2001 to 14.6 million for July 2002, an increase of 103 percent. Monster further demonstrated its strength in the online careers industry with a 53 percent share of online career eyeball minutes(d), while its closest competitor represents only an 11.9 percent share.

According to the Nielsen//NetRatings' MarketView report for the month of June, Monster received 12.2 million unique visitors, more than three times its closest competitor's 3.7 million unique visitors. Monster also received 57.8 percent of career eyeball minutes, with its closest competitor representing a share of only 14.4 percent, a difference of over 40 percent.

On August 6th, Monster announced Customized Resume Access to provide increased flexibility of its resume database to empower small, medium and large employers to take greater control of the recruitment process.
