Monster Paves Road of Success for Leadership in Online Careers Industry; Monster Reaches 20 Million Resumes Milestone
55.1 Percent of Career Eyeball Minutes Highlights Month of August
MAYNARD, Mass., Sep 26, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Continuing to cement its global leadership position, Monster(R) today announced that it has achieved a new feat for the online careers industry by surpassing 20 million resumes in its resume database. Complementing the resume growth over the past two years is Monster's surge in site traffic. During the month of August, Monster led the career category by a wide margin, according to comScore Media Metrix and Nielsen//NetRatings. 13.4 million unique visitors went to Monster during the month of August according to comScore Media Metrix, more than three times its closest competitor's total of 3.9 million unique visitors. According to Nielsen//NetRatings, Monster received 13.3 million unique visitors, nearly three times that of its closest competitor's 4.5 million unique visitors. Monster is the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW).
The growth in Monster's resume database is a testament to the positive consumer response to Monster's commitment to delivering innovative career management solutions to global job seekers. Less than two years ago, Monster hit five million resumes in the resume database. Eight months later, in May 2001, Monster surpassed 10 million resumes. Now, less than 16 months later, Monster's resume growth continues to expand, with the total number of resumes in the resume database passing the 20 million mark.
"Connecting qualified job seekers with great job opportunities is the foundation of our business. A focal point since our inception has been to create a vast resume database with top talent for employers to find the coveted people to grow their businesses," said Jeff Taylor, founder and chairman of Monster. "Reaching 20 million resumes is a historic accomplishment for Monster as the leader of the online careers industry; we are paving an uncharted path to changing not only the way the world looks for employment, but also the way companies recruit talent."
