State-of-the-Art Usability Studio to Help Advance Development of World's Leading Career Site

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2003--Monster(R), the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), today announced that it has recently opened the brand new Monster Usability Studio at its global headquarters, marking the first time Monster has brought live employer/consumer product testing in-house. The Monster Usability Studio is designed to help Monster build products that better meet both customers' and job seekers' needs and deliver the best possible user experience.

Located at the Monster headquarters in Maynard, Massachusetts, The Monster Usability Studio was created to help advance the development of products for Monster's extensive customer base as well as its 38 million job seeker members. The Studio, which is fully equipped with advanced digital (tapeless) technology, will allow Monster's product development and usability teams to implement User Centered Design techniques to improve the design of Monster products, increase customer loyalty, and reduce development time and support calls. The Monster usability team activities will include conducting focus groups, providing expert reviews on product concepts, and performing iterative remote and lab-based usability testing.

"The opening of the Monster Usability Studio is a new innovation for the product and usability teams at Monster," said Jeff Taylor, Founder and Chief Monster. "The ability to test future site products and enhancements internally will help to ensure that final products created are user-friendly and fully meet the needs of our customers and job seekers. Through the Studio, all products on Monster will be thoroughly "test-driven" by all types of users to make our site as easy to use as possible."

Additional features of The Monster Usability Studio include the production of instant highlight tapes, as well as broadcast tests to employees outside of Monster's Maynard headquarters. The Studio will also mark the debut of data-driven User Personas, which are detailed descriptions of the different types of Monster customers. Personas describe how different kinds of customer use Monster, explain their unique needs, and suggest design considerations for each group.
