Monster Names Carole Johnson Senior Vice President of Marketing; Veteran Marketing Executive from Gillette Joins Monster Management Team
MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2003--Monster(R), the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), today announced that Carole Johnson has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing. In this role, she will oversee all marketing activities, including advertising, public relations, promotions, sponsorships, key partnerships, customer relationship management, and consumer and business-to-business direct marketing.
Johnson will set the strategic direction for Monster's branding activities, which have included Olympic sponsorships, Super Bowl advertising and other non-traditional marketing initiatives. She will manage the North American marketing budget and supervise a team of 20 plus employees. Additionally, Johnson is charged with conducting a search for Monster's new advertising agency of record.

Corporate Biography for Carole Johnson
Prior to joining Monster, Johnson was with The Gillette Company for 22 years. Most recently she served as Vice President Business Services, Commercial Operations, North America, where she was responsible for marketing and sales services for a multi-billion dollar division selling shaving products, personal care products, Oral B oral hygiene products, Braun appliances, and Duracell batteries. Prior to this role she was Vice President Marketing Services, Commercial Operations, North America, in which she was instrumental in establishing Gillette's Internet strategy, while helping to consolidate all marketing services for Duracell, Braun, Oral B and Grooming divisions into a newly formed unit. Throughout her earlier tenure at Gillette, Johnson held a variety of management positions including product, sales and marketing roles. Johnson holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University, as well as an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
