Monster Launches January Jobs Campaign for the New Year to Help Americans Find Employment in Their Local Communities
Monster Motivates U.S. Employers to List New Jobs with One Free Posting for 7 Days, Driving Job Seekers to Begin their Search with a Chance to Win a $50,000 Bonus
MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2005--Monster (NASDAQ: MNST): With more than eight million Americans unemployed, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and millions of other workers ready to energize their careers in 2005, Monster(R) today announced a January Jobs Campaign for the New Year. Created to inspire Americans to find fulfilling employment in their local market, the campaign will run throughout January on Monster and over the radio in 41 local markets across the country with an upbeat and encouraging message about the workforce. As part of this effort, Monster is offering employers that are new Monster customers the opportunity to post one free U.S.-based job listing via the following URL: http://freeposting.monster.com/. Monster is the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST).
The January Jobs Campaign, driven by radio, television, and online components, culminates February 1 with Ultimate Career Day, when the free jobs are made searchable - helping millions of job seekers connect with job opportunities across all industries. These jobs will remain live for a seven-day period, February 1-7. To drive job seekers to the online marketplace during this time period, Monster will provide a free month of music on the award-winning Rhapsody(R) service and one free music download, as well as enter job seekers in a drawing to win a $50,000 cash prize when they upload or edit a new or existing resume during the month of January.
"Monster is starting the New Year with a big idea - by helping and inspiring all Americans to find jobs in their local markets and encouraging employers to post new opportunities for these seekers through free job postings," said Jeff Taylor, Founder and Chief Monster. "We spent a decade establishing ourselves as the leading online careers site and one of the top 15 most visited properties on the Internet (according to comScore Media Metrix); now we plan to leverage that category leadership to make a significant impact on a local level. Ultimate Career Day not only supports this objective, but gives us a chance to help connect millions of Americans and employers."
As part of Monster's new strategic marketing agreement with Infinity Broadcasting, Ultimate Career Day will be extensively promoted via 180 local market radio stations and their websites in 41 U.S. markets throughout January. In addition, every half hour throughout the day on February 1, Monster will air one-minute "Monster Career Moments," hosted by Jeff Taylor. "Monster Career Moments" will feature inspiring clips from Jeff's interviews with notable businessmen and women, athletes and celebrities, as well as Monster's own career tips and listener success stories. These interviews will be accessible on station websites from February 1-7.
In each market, Infinity stations will also use commercial time to feature local companies with hiring needs, highlight career enhancement tools found on Monster, and offer expert career advice regarding a range of topics, including resume writing and interviewing skills.
