Monster to connect job seekers and employers at free careers fairs across Europe and help fill thousands of job opportunities
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 19, 2009--
Monster Worldwide (NYSE:MWW), today announced the “Keep Europe Working”
tour - a series of free careers fairs designed to link employers and job
seekers across Europe. The fairs will bring together the tools and
expertise job seekers need to find work and manage their careers. Job
seekers will gain advice and techniques from career experts through live
theatre presentations that will help them stand out from the crowd in
today's tough job market. They will also have the chance to meet
face-to-face with market-leading employers with job opportunities. The
Keep Europe Working tour will kick-off in France and the Netherlands,
visiting four French and Dutch cities* during June. It will continue
throughout the EU, with further fairs already planned in Germany and the
UK during September and October.
Keep Europe Working is part of Monster’s contribution toward rebuilding
the European workforce by investing in local economies and helping job
seekers get back to work. The events provide the opportunity for
employers and candidates to connect personally, and to fill available
jobs. Employers who attend will meet the highly qualified talent they
need to strengthen their recruiting pipelines and fill their open
positions in a free and efficient way.
“We’re looking forward to working with employers across Europe to
facilitate the important task of helping people back into work. This
tour will extend our efforts across the U.S., where our Keep America
Working tour has been a great success, visiting 25 cities to-date and
attracting tens of thousands of job seekers. The U.S tour will call at
140 locations by the end of 2009,” said Andrea Bertone, senior vice
president, Monster Western Europe. “Monster is ideally positioned to
deliver these events through our strong existing relationships with
employers, and our broad familiarity as the leading career Web site
among consumers.”
Monster is working with a number of key European employers as well as
its broad base of local partners across Europe to drive the availability
of employment opportunities at each event.
The Keep Europe Working tour will offer workshops and advice alongside
employment opportunities. The events will seek to improve a candidate’s
ability to get a job by providing free guidance to help build
confidence, develop interview techniques, and advice about how to ‘stand
out’ as a candidate.
