Monster Honored by HR Executive and Information Week as Innovation Leader
MAYNARD, Mass., Sep 29, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Monster.com(R), the leading job matching engine and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: MWW), was today honored among a short list of very nimble and innovative companies for its Power Resume Search (powered by 6Sense(TM) Semantic Search technology) as one of HR Executive's 10 Products of the Year. The award was announced at the annual HR Tech Conference in Chicago.
HR Executive cited the following as the rationale for selecting Power Resume Search: "Power Resume Search allows recruiters to filter through the deluge of information on the web and find potential job candidates by analyzing both the content and the context of resumes in Monster's database. The difficulties of creating precise keywords to search for a candidate is no longer an issue, as the tool extracts and automatically displays relevant skills and years of experience against job criteria -- and against other possible candidates. It takes less time to find more qualified candidates -- and who can argue with that?"
"We developed 6Sense(TM) semantic search technology to help employers find the most precise talent matches from within very large and valuable databases," said Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Monster Worldwide. "The reliance on traditional keyword search is a factor in why the viability of the traditional job board model is in question. Why? Traditional job boards produce too many irrelevant search results, can miss the very best potential matches and the whole process can be more time consuming than searching needs to be. Monster recognized this and addressed it in a very significant way."
This accolade comes on the heels of Monster's recent honor in the top 10 of the annual InformationWeek 500. In addition to making it into InformationWeek's Top 10 this year, Monster was also recognized at the corresponding awards dinner for being one of the top Consulting & Business Services companies as well as an essay finalist in the Emerging Technology category.
"We've invested a tremendous amount into our product innovation over the past few years and it's paying dividends. Our new technology truly leap frogs us over the competition and is a huge success with our growing customer base both in the US and internationally," said Darko Dejanovic, global CIO and head of product for Monster Worldwide. "These honors represent further recognition from industry experts that Monster's innovation strategy is working and it's allowing Monster to take the industry in a radical new direction."
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies. Top winners have included: CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
