Monster and NAACP Announce Online Recruiting Partnership; Monster Becomes the Exclusive Online Career Resource of the NAACP

Co-Branded Site to Deliver Diversity Recruiting Solutions for Employers and Targeted Jobs and Content for Diverse Job Seekers

MAYNARD, Mass. & BALTIMORE, Feb 26, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Monster(R), the leading global online careers property and flagship brand of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW), and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) today announced a strategic online recruiting partnership. Under the agreement, Monster will become the exclusive online career partner of the NAACP, the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. Through the multi-tiered relationship, job seekers will be able to search for job opportunities across a wide breadth of industries; furthermore, the co-branded site will enable employers to target, reach, and access a diverse pool of qualified candidates.

The nation's economy has provided challenges for job seekers nationwide, with the current unemployment rate at 5.7 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (January 2003). However, the current state of the job market has taken an especially tough toll on African-Americans, who have a 10.3 percent unemployment rate as well as Hispanics or Latinos, who have an unemployment rate of 7.8 percent. To help address the difficulties experienced in finding employment nationwide, Monster's new partnership with the NAACP will enable job seekers to connect with job opportunities across a wide range of industries.

The co-branded website will be prominently featured as the career channel of the NAACP website. In addition, a similar co-branded page will serve as the central homepage for the Monster Diversity & Inclusion channel, accessible via the Monster homepage. Visitors to the site via Monster and the NAACP and its chapters will be able to search through thousands of job opportunities, as employers can elect to post jobs on Monster to the co-branded website. Companies nationwide will be able to reach a qualified and diverse base of job seekers.

"Our new partnership with the NAACP will be instrumental in helping address the current unemployment suffered by diverse job seekers nationwide," said Andrew J. McKelvey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TMP Worldwide. "The co-branded website will enable job seekers to connect with quality job opportunities from leading companies nationwide, while having access to expert-driven tools and services to manage their careers."

"Partnering with Monster gives the NAACP a tremendous opportunity to provide a qualified and racially diverse set of job seekers with great job opportunities nationwide, as well as tips and advice on how to succeed in their careers and their lives," said Kweisi Mfume, NAACP President & CEO. "Creating real diversity in the workforce is an opportunity for companies in all regions across the country to grow their business by finding and connecting with qualified job applicants."

The Monster and NAACP partnership will extend beyond job postings, offering a wide array of career offerings, designed to help job seekers manage their careers and help drive job postings from leading companies nationwide to the co-branded website. Content of the site will include career articles, profiles of diversity advocates and professionals, newsletters, and message boards on wide-ranging diversity topics and issues.
