Monster.com Job Seeker Accounts Hit Seven Million Member Milestone
Maynard, MA – April 24, 2000 – Monster.com, the leading global online careers site and flagship brand of the Interactive Division of TMP Worldwide (NASDAQ: "TMPW"; ASX: "TMP"), today announced a record milestone of seven million registered job seekers on the site. This milestone, combined with Media Metrix findings for the month of March, highlight Monster.com's leadership position in the online careers industry.
Monster.com's job seeker accounts skyrocketed by one million new registered accounts in the past month. Furthermore, Monster.com reported a breakthrough figure for its resume database, now containing more than 3.4 million unique resumes and over 380,000 unique job opportunities from thousands of companies.
According to independent research conducted by Media Metrix for the month of March, Monster.com continues to lead the online recruiting industry as the number one destination for career seekers and one of the top 100 most visited Web sites overall on the Internet. Monster.com maintained its strong-hold this month with a power ranking* of 162.7 — more than five times larger than its closest competitor's power ranking of 30.5.
Also, Monster.com boasted over 14.5 million unique visits in March, more than twice as many as its closest competitor, according to independent research conducted by I/PRO.
Yahoo! Internet Life (May 2000 issue) provides further testimony to Monster.com's leadership position by recognizing Monster.com as the best site on the Web to find a job, out of more than 30,000 sites devoted to careers. According to the judges, “Many sites can help in your hunt, but none as well as Monster.com. You get not only an enormous database of postings to scour, from industry majors to fledging startups, but also an online career coach.”
“More job seekers than ever are realizing the career possibilities available to them through Monster.com,” said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. “The record number of job seeker accounts, Media Metrix findings month after month, and now this award from Yahoo! Internet Life, provide testament that Monster.com continues to be the online careers site of choice.”
