Led By Monster.Com, TMP Worldwide’s Interactive Division Reports Revenue Of $20.1 Million, Up 161% From The Previous Year; Fourth Consecutive Quarter of Profitability

NEW YORK, NY – May 4, 1999 – TMP Worldwide Inc., (NASDAQ: "TMPW"; ASX: "TMP") today announced that the company's Interactive Division, led by Monster.com posted revenue of $20.1 million for the first quarter of 1999, an increase of 161% from $7.7 million for the prior year period. Operating profit for this quarter was $400,000, compared to a loss of $1.0 million dollars for the first quarter of 1998.

Monster.com has been extremely successful in building a leadership position in the online recruiting category worldwide. Beginning with the launch of the national advertising campaign during the Super Bowl this year, TMP has made a commitment to continue an aggressive television, radio and print marketing campaign to communicate its leadership position in online careers and increase brand awareness among consumers.

Monster.com was launched in mid-January of 1999 as a result of the merger of the number-one and number-four rated online recruitment sites, The Monster Boardr and Online Career Center, respectively, both owned by TMP Worldwide.

Monster.com has also received 82 million page views in March and commands a visit time of approximately 13 minutes. The site offers approximately 200,000 job opportunities and a resume database containing more than 1.3 million unique resumes.

"According to Media Metrix, March tracking of our numbers continues to show increase in traffic with the audience reach rising almost 15% in March compared to January," continued Mr. Taylor.

Monster.com also recently received the Editor's Choice award for best online job site in the May 25th issue of PC Magazine. The Editor of PC magazine was quoted as stating that, "…none of the job sites can beat Monster.com's impressive combination of ease of use and power for both job seekers and employers."

On March 31, 1999, TMP Interactive acquired Paris-based JobSesame, a graduate-focused careers site with services encompassing school-specific targeting for graduate recruitment and internship listings. JobSesame will be integrated into Monster Campus, and the company model will be used as a means of enhancing online graduate recruiting efforts through out Europe.
