Leading Career Web Site Attributes Record-breaking January Traffic to New Year's Resolutions and Growing Popularity of Internet Recruiting

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Feb. 25, 1998 -- The Monster Board, part of the interactive division of TMP Worldwide (NASDAQ: TMPW) today announced that its leading career web site received nearly 2.2 million visits from job seekers and employers during the month of January, the most traffic the site ever has received in one month.

The Monster Board, located at www.monster.com , attributes the increase in visits to the growing popularity of internet recruiting and to people acting on their New Year's resolutions to find new jobs. The high number of January visits to the site represents more than a 31 percent increase over December 1997 traffic of 1.6 million visits. On January 5 alone, the first weekday after the New Year's holiday weekend, The Monster Board received a record-breaking 97,000 visits.

``We have seen a steady and rapid increase in the number of visits The Monster Board receives from month to month since its inception in 1994,'' said Jeff Taylor, founder of The Monster Board and executive vice president of TMP's Interactive Division. ``This demonstrates that the internet is a highly effective recruitment tool which job seekers and employers alike are turning to as a valuable resource. If 1998 trends match 1997's, New Years's resolution traffic sets the pace for the year.''

Also on January 5, nearly 90,000 job seekers submitted resumes to The Monster Board's Resume City to apply for jobs via e-mail or to make themselves known to interested employers. Resume City is a searchable database of more than 250,000 current resumes that top recruiters look through every day to locate candidates that match their specific hiring requirements.

A Nielson I/PRO audit released on Feb. 12, 1998, stated that visitors entered The Monster Board site 2,186,722 times during the month of January, whereas Nielson I/PRO reported the site received 1,618,254 visits in December 1997.
