Hi Mom! I'm Home.; 63 Percent of College Students Plan to Live At Home with their Parents after Graduation
In an online poll conducted May 6th - May 13th, MonsterTRAK asked, "How long do you plan to live with your parents after graduation?" --A total of 1,612 votes were cast, revealing:
--0 months. Been there, done that. (594 votes) 37%
--One to six months. (436 votes) 27%
--Seven months to one year. (221 votes) 14%
--More than one year. (361 votes) 22%
"Students are beginning to realize that they are not going to command the high salaries like previous graduating classes did during the economic boom," said Ken Ramberg, senior vice president of MonsterTRAK. "Fiscal responsibility is crucial for students given the current high cost of living and the tough job market; not to mention living at home enables students to begin accumulating savings and paying down their debts."
