Government Veteran Richard A. Whitford Joins the Executive Management Team of Monster Government Solutions

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2006--Monster Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Monster Worldwide (NASDAQ:MNST), announced today the appointment of Richard A. Whitford as Senior Vice President of Product Development and Delivery. Having served in key leadership roles with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Mr. Whitford has over 20 years of experience in the government human resources arena.

In his new role, Mr. Whitford will help set the strategic direction for all of Monster Government Solutions' human capital software products, as well as oversee the delivery and development of those products which include solutions for hiring management, onboarding and performance management among others.

Mr. Whitford most recently served as the Assistant Administrator for Human Resources at TSA where he was the senior official concerning human resources matters and was a principal advisor on human resources policy development, planning, evaluation and oversight. His major accomplishments while at TSA include streamlining the administration's hiring processes and coordinating the hiring and training of nearly 11,350 transportation security screeners in 2005 alone.

Prior to TSA, Mr. Whitford spent over a decade with OPM in various leadership roles. While at OPM, Mr. Whitford was instrumental in leading the Recruitment One-Stop eGov initiative and launched the Patriot Readiness Center which brought together thousands of retired Federal employees interested in returning to public service after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Mr. Whitford began his career with the U.S. Navy and has received numerous awards of excellence for his public service work throughout his career. Mr. Whitford completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola College and has done graduate work at Brown University, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland.
