Aggressive Ad Buy Spikes Traffic To Monster.Com
Number of Job Listings Reach All-time High
MAYNARD, MA – June 23, 1999 – In a quickly developing trend, Internet businesses are using "traditional" media like television to establish and strengthen their brands among consumers with great success, and Monster.com is no exception.
Monster.com announced today that the site is the 77th most-visited site on the Internet, gaining a forty-percent increase in reach from April to May. According to independent research conducted by Media Metrix, 3.9 percent of the entire U.S. Internet population visited Monster.com during the month of May – more than double that of its nearest competitor, and equal to the total traffic of the next three competitors combined.
Monster.com, the leading global careers web site, has experienced an enormous boost in site traffic and the number of resumes posted daily, thanks to an aggressive television campaign featuring Monster.com's critically acclaimed commercial. Job listings paid for by clients are at an all-time high of over 230,000, and resumes are being posted to the site at a rate 36% higher than previously measured.
"The aggressiveness of this latest ad buy is indication of our commitment to attracting the widest and most diverse pool of job seekers for employers using our career site," said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. "And the impact on traffic is a clear indication that the site is providing both job seekers and employers with the tools they are looking for."
This recent advertising buy was made in partnership with LAI Compass, an online career self-assessment tool whose link can be found on the Monster.com site. LAI Compass is a self-guided job profiling and assessment tool that helps mid-level executives determine their preferred managerial, business and interpersonal styles. The tool is designed to match mid-level executives with salaries ranging between $70,000 - $140,000 annually with employers.
Monster.com's new ad buy, combined with the link, has also fueled traffic to its partner. The activation of the LAI Compass link on Monster.com on May 12, 1999 has directly contributed to an 800% increase in traffic to laicompass.com.
