Madrid, 7th may 2010 – It seems that the arrival of the summer season couldn’t distance at all the storms and the cold temperature that we’re suffering since the beginning of the winter. However, between employers and bosses, there is already the rumor about the next holiday destination, how many days they will spend and how to coordinate with colleagues.
A recent study carried out by Monster in Spain reveals that almost 70% of Spaniards take advantage of all their holidays. Among them, 53% will do it because they need to have a rest and recharge their battery. The rest, use all their free days just because their bosses “force” them, as declared by 1 out of every 10 Spaniards.
In contrast, 35% of those polled recognize that they can’t enjoy at their holidays at all. Among them, almost 25% can’t, although they try, due to too much work. However, another 11% decide deliberately to not to use the totality of their holiday, to leave some free days for the next year or get paid for them.
“Although the economic situation influences employers when they are planning their holidays, the majority of Spaniards still value their free time and they consider necessary to go on holidays to move away from the daily routine and recharge their battery”, says Veronica Milo, Monster Marketing Manager for Spain.
In this survey, Monster asked Spanish workers, “Do you spend all your holidays during the year?”
The results are as follows:
No, I try it but I can’t due to too much work 24%
No, I negotiate with my boss to leave some days free for the
next year or I get paid for them 11%
Yes, my boss forces me 13%
Yes, I need to rest 53%
