Madrid, June 2010 – During the last weeks of summer, heat has contributed to  the increased level of physical exhaustion and tiredness of employees who desire to go on holidays for a few days to charge their “battery” and go back to work with more energy. In spite of the economic situation we are facing, which has seen a sensible reduction in Spanish holiday’s budget, employees don’t hold back from spending some days far away from their daily routine. To deal with that, some employees can count with an extra summer salary.

A recent study carried out by Monster in Spain reveals that 23% of Spaniards spend the most of their extra summer salary to go on holiday. Among them, 11% of those polled recognize taking time off for holiday, results in spending all of their extra summer salary. The rest which is about12%, try to save part of their extra salary but they still use it to plan their holidays and deal with the correlated expenses.

In contrast, 27% of those polled are cautious and save as much as they can to face possible “difficult situations” or to spend it for another occasion.

Surprisingly, Monster poll reveals also that 50% of Spaniards don’t receive any extra salary in summer, therefore, they don’t have an extra compensation to use for holidays.

In this survey, Monster asked Spanish workers, “Do you spend all your extra summer salary to go on holiday?”
