Monster-Poll shows: Only 26 percent of the German respondents have a work outing in their company
Austrian and Swiss respondents are more fond of outings.
Eschborn, 19 August 2010 – A successful company outing with seniors and colleagues, accounts for getting to know each other better and improves the working atmosphere. However, not every employer offers work outings. A poll of the best-known German online career portal Monster.de, shows that only 26 percent of the German respondents have a company outing in their firm. Almost half of the respondents would love to have an excursion with their colleagues, yet their companies do not offer any outings. Twenty five percent of the German respondents do not care about company outings.
The findings of the poll at a glance:
Is there a company outing in your firm? | |
| 26% (411) |
| 49% (781) |
| 25% (387) |
The comparison of both countries, Austria and Switzerland shows that the two neighboring countries both have company outings more often. Thus, 30 percent of the Austrian respondents and 38 percent of the respondents from Switzerland, state that they get time off for a company trip. Almost half of the respondents from Austria and 46 percent from Switzerland regret that their companies do not offer excursions. Every fifth Austrian respondent does not care about outings with colleagues, as well as 16 percent of the Swiss.
“In the course of the economic crises work outings and similar events fell victim to the cost pressure in the companies”, says Marcus Riecke, CEO Central Europe Monster Worldwide. “However, such events have a positive impact on the employees’ motivation and strengthen the team spirit. Apart from the work climate the co-operation of the employees can be increased through a joint experience like a work outing.”
From July 26th until August 8th, 2010 1,861 interviewees in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland voted. The career platform Monster regularly conducts surveys on its local as well as global websites on the subject(s) of workplace and career. These polls are not representative; they represent the opinion of Monster users.
